His first book commission was with the Hal Leonard Corporation in 1989; the “Mike Stern Guitar Transcriptions” book. Subsequent work with Warner Bros. Publications, Music Sales Inc., Columbia Pictures/Belwin Inc., Mel Bay Publishing, Alpha/Penguin Publishing and Musicnotes.com soon followed.
